Transcript for "May GoldMine":
Hi. Good morning. Good afternoon. Good evening. Depending on where you're joining from. Welcome everyone to our May Gold Line. We are so excited to have you. And I see, or say your comment link to join this event. We have our. Registration page, let me copy that and send that and chat. So that others can register. How are you doing today, Alana? How are you feeling? I'm doing well. Super excited to be here. How are you? I am honestly, I'm dragging a little today. We've had a lot of rain, so we're I'm just feeling like sleeping. But, it's Thursday. The long weekend is coming up. Yes. You guys excited about the four day weekend? I'm talking to the audience now, not Alana. Well, Alana too. I know. I'm excited. Me too, Megan. So excited. Okay. Well, we don't have enough time today, so let's hop right in. For those that are new, my name is Britney Francis. I lead our learning and education department at Goldcast, now Cvent. And, Alana, would you like to introduce yourself as well? Yeah. My name is Alana. I'm on the product marketing team. A lot of you I've probably already worked with you, on customer assets, but I'm leading product launches right now. So I'm very excited to be here. And for those of you that are new, this is GoldMine. This is our monthly look at new products, feature releases, updates, and what's coming next at Goldcast. So let me share a slide deck. This month is going to be a really fun mix of AI releases, video strategy, live engagement, and some smarter content workflows. And we also have a really great spotlight today that I'm going to kick off. It's gonna be around video GEO. And in my opinion, it is one of the best real world real world examples that we've shown so far around Video GEO, and it was created by our very own, Alana. So I'm going to kick it over to you to get us started, and then we'll jump into some questions after you've done your demo of what the video GEO page is and what it's for. Yeah. I am so flattered. Let me stop sharing the deck so I can actually do a screen share so we can walk through the the page and then give you a behind the scenes sneak peek as well. Actually, I think I need the audio. I don't need the audio until we go to the content lab. Okay. I'm fine for now. Y'all should be able to see my screen. Right? Alright. Okay. So we I don't know if y'all know, but at Goldcast, we really like to drink our own champagne. And being on the product marketing team, I've always had really close access to a lot of our products, including, the ContentLab and recording studio. I was probably using ContentLab, like, on a weekly basis, just editing clips and then getting assets ready for case studies. I really love that tool. And now that I I'm hosting, GoldenEye with Britney, I'm also getting more exposure to the events side of things. But the Videohub, our, Videohub page tool, that is one product that I didn't really get to use much until December last year. We released our new video geo features, which are built directly into our video hub pages and our on demand pages. So I was leading that launch, and I was thinking, okay. What better way to showcase everything this product can do than to actually use it ourselves? So and, also, you know, at the time, VideoGeo is a it still is a relatively new concept. I think, a lot of part a lot of marketers are starting to hear more about video geo, geo, AEO in general, but there's still, like, so much to learn, best practices, misconceptions. What can you do to set yourself up for success. So after talking it through with my team, we decided, okay. We should just build a Videohub page filled with all of the resources we already have, help our customers and marketers to really understand Video GEO, and that's exactly what we did. So, I will like I would like to say this page is definitely not a finished product. There's a lot more we can dig into, and I've actually already heard back from our content team. They're planning to add more based on the feedback they've been getting as well. So I would actually, bookmark this page and check back in the future as well because there's gonna be a ton of more resources added to the page. So let me give you a little tour of the page. We were really intentional about the content. So as you can see on this page, we have two video series. The first one is our Video GEO playbook. This is where, Alex kind of walks through the fundamentals of Video GEO and really just introduces some of the concepts and explains some of the, the basic stuff to help your video be more discoverable by AI. And you can see some of the topics include what is VideoGeo, the differences between SEO, GEO, and VideoGeo. What is AI looking for? And when you adopt the Video GEO strategy, how do you measure your Video GEO success? So a lot of, really practical and actionable stuff, And we also keep each clip really digestible, so you can see most are around or under two minutes. And then the second series is actually from one of our geo webinars from 2025, right when we were starting to kind of see the shifts in search behavior when a lot of the organic search traffic gets down, but your conversion probably, hopefully, still stayed consistent. And back then, we had a conversation with Devon Reed. So this gives you a real marketer's perspective, and we cut, the webinar into four clips highlighting some of the key moments. And we also linked it out to the full webinar here with additional resources. So if you would like to check it out, there's a link here for you. So this this hub page is really, built with marketers and our customers in mind because I know VideoGeo there's there's I learned a ton through throughout the project, but there's still so much to learn. So, hopefully, this act as a resource, a resource that helps you to understand more about video g VideoGeo and how to make your how to help your video, show up more, in all of the different AI platforms. Love this. I as someone that is not a marketer, Video GEO is such a broad concept for me too, and I we've had so many conversations the last couple of months even when we talked to Logan at EX about, like, how he was, like, formatting his events and, like, the post event content for a little bit more discoverability with the AI. And I think that this is such a great resource, not just for marketers, but for anyone that is creating events and creating content. I would like to know how you created the page with Goldcast. I'm familiar with our hubs and our pages, but for our audience that maybe hasn't had as much of a, in-depth look at our hubs pages option, can you tell us how you created this? And if you use, like, Goldcast for recording and editing and hosting of of the page, like, how I guess, all encompassing how you use Goldcast for this. Yeah. I'd love to. I had so much fun building this page working with my team. Excuse me. So as you can see, this page, the VideoGeo playbook series, this all of the video was recorded in recording studio by Alex. And Alex is based in London, and I got the recording, in Goldcast and then went into ContentLab to edit all of the recordings he he gave me, and I'm in San Francisco. So, normally, Alex and I, we don't get to work together at all. But because of this project, I was like, oh, I'm bonding with Alex. That was really fun for me. So that was recording Studio Content Lab and then published everything on this VideoGeo hub page. And then for this next series, as I mentioned, that was, I know Alex is the best. I it was so fun working with him. This second series is, from a webinar we did in 2025. So, obviously, that was recorded in Goldcast as well, but then, again, edited in ContentLab and published here. I would say the only thing that we did externally for this page, was these thumbnail images because Goldcast is not a image editor tool. Yes. But it was very easy to do too. Our designers just created a Canva template for me, and then I just kind of, like, popped out speaker images and then edited the text, and it was done for, all of these 12 different images. Love that. So with this, did you start with the recordings, or did you start with building the page and then building the recordings around it? Where did you kick this off? That's, what good question. Yeah. I think I I started with the with the clips. I needed to see what the content is before I design the layout, but I also we have before I built out this page, we already had several, video hub pages, and I also got inspired by some of our customers' video hub pages. So I can actually do I have that page? Uber for business. Sorry. My system had to restart right before Goldeneye, so I lost that page. But I can look it up for you and then, send a link in in chat. But Uber, they had a they still have a video hub page with, all of their on demand clips, categorized into different, topics. So it's really easy for people to learn about different offerings. And I looked at that page. I was like, oh, this is so beautiful. And I checked in with our CSM. I was like, this is a gold Goldcast page? What did they what tool did they use? That was before I started using Videohub. And she was like, yeah. This is all done in Goldcast. And I was like, okay. Now I got this opportunity. I was like, thank you. Yes. Anuja shared the the link in chat in the chat, so feel free to check it out. I really got inspired by that, and then I was like, okay. I have my recordings. I have my clips done, and then now it's time for me to have some fun and then figure out the layout. What makes the most sense for me as a marketer and what makes the page flow better. That's basically how I kind of envision the page and then started building from there. Okay. That is helpful. Definitely. And I see Anusha actually posted a link. Thank you, Anusha. Okay. So what would you say makes this page a strong live example of Goldcast's video GEO capabilities. When you created this and then when you posted about it, you described it as, automatically GEO optimized with structured data, transcripts, and AI summaries built in. Why do you think it was important to showcase those elements directly in the page experience? Yeah. Yeah. So, I feel like a lot of times we're just like, okay. Here are the features. Here are the benefits. But for this one, I was like, instead of just telling you what this product can do, why don't we show you in real time what it actually does? So if you, like, go on to this page and you can click on any of the video clips we we have here, like, for example, this one. If I click on it, you'll be able to see the clip, watch it, and then you'll see the summary and then the transcript we have available here. So the transcript is the same transcript you have in ContentLab. So if there's misspellings or if there's filler words that you like to get rid of, feel free to hop into ContentLab and make edits there, and then it will show up here. The summary, you have the option to use the AI generated summary. I obviously use that feature because it took two seconds for AI to generate the summary. I can't even type out a full word, within two seconds. And then we keep the format pretty consistent as well. So you'll see a couple of paragraphs here just to tell you a little bit more about the content in this video. And we have key takeaways and questions answered in this video in bullets, which is a format that AI really likes. So this makes your content a lot more accessible to AI. Something I didn't know before I started working on this project, AI doesn't watch videos. I thought AI was so it was omnipotent. Like, it can do anything, but AI doesn't watch videos. It can read text. So it makes it so much more important and essential to have your transcripts, have your metadata, all of the structured data information ready for AI so your video exists to AI. I love that. And I think you actually might have just answered this question that Barbara had. It was what in this page makes it optimized for GEOs of the content number of videos, layout of the page, other elements that make it more a AEO optimized. And it sounds like it's all of the text portions that you added into the video. So, like, the summaries, the transcripts, all of the things that the AI can gather and read so that it's optimized. So when people search for it, it's a lot easier to find based on all of the, like, wording that's on the page. Is that correct? Yes. Yes. It's really because of all of the transcript, the AI summaries, all of the basically, all of the copy we added to the page that makes the video readable, watchable to the AI. So if we didn't have any of the, I'm on a different screen. Sorry. If, let's say, we didn't have the summaries, we didn't have the transcripts, this video basically doesn't exist to AI because it just can't access it. And then to help with the flow, we also have different features here. So, for example, here, we have the entire playlist available for you to easily navigate into, you know, the next video, or you can also exit out and then go to the main page and then check out other, other clips as well. But you can see the summaries. My transcripts here. I love that. And I I had a question on, for marketer brand new to VideoGEO. What's the first takeaway or action that you want them to leave with? And it sounds like it's just load the page down with text. It's do you have a do you have a different answer? I think it's it's highly necessary. You have to help, AI to know what it's reading. Right? You can't just because I feel like a lot of us, we have the same experience whether you're hosting webinars or you're just, like, creating content. You have all of the amazing content ready, but you just don't have the eyes on it. You just want more people to see it. Now we don't just want people to see it. We want AI to see it as well. But I think for, marketers too, my, fellow marketers, this was my first time building this hub page, and it was pretty intuitive. It was really easy. So if this is something that you're interested in, it's already in your Goldcast account. I'm I'm actually happy to show you the back end just so you know how I built it because, like, for someone if you're not sitting close to this product, you're like, where do I even start? So let me do that. Britney, do we have time? Can I do that? Yeah. We have, yeah, we have a couple minutes. Go ahead. Okay. Alright. So, if you go into your Goldcast studio, use the navigation bar to the left, you'll see the pages option. This is where your Video Hub pages live. And then here you can see all of our existing pages. For me, it's the video geo page, but if you're building some things from scratch, then you're gonna go over here and then create a new one. But I'm gonna go in here and then just show you the back end real quick. So here, I'm gonna click on edit, and you will be able to see all of the blocks we have for this page. And I would say, everything else was pretty intuitive and really easy for me to figure out. The only two things that got a little tricky, and I had to ask, my team, was first, how do I, customize the font color here for the the video titles? Because we all have different monitors and screens. Like, originally, when this was built, this title was kinda like a it was black on my screen, so I didn't see it at all. But on my manager's screen, it was dark blue, so he kind of saw it, but it was, like, still very hard to see. So we're like, okay. We gotta make this a better experience, and I didn't know where to go to change that. But it's just this video block and, this little styles icon. I kind of just looked past it. I was like, okay. This is the beautiful icon. I don't know if it does. But if you click on it, I'll give you all of these different tools. So cart text style, this is where you can change your font size, your text color, and stuff. So right now, this is set to white. But if we wanted to use the gold Goldcast orange, I think it's four two zero zero, and you just saw it change. Right? So I think this is one useful tip for me to remember. And another little trick was we wanted to add additional resources. So, like, we have some great blog articles, some other, webinar resources. We wanted to link to the page. We don't just want the page to be only about those two series, and we're also gonna add additional series in the in the future as well. So we're like, okay. What other formats can we add to this page? So you'll see here additional geo resources. We have some articles and other web pages available here. And, basically, we just added this text grid. And here we used three different columns just so it's a little easier for for your eyes to look at. But here it's very easy. I just added the text and use this link out button to add the link so people have more more resources, from this page. Yeah. Those are the two like, they they seem small, but I think I probably spent more than one hour just trying to figure out everything by myself. And I was like, okay. I give up. I'm gonna have to talk to my PM. And then she was like, oh, it's so easy. It's right that right there. You're looking at the button. I was like, ah, yes. Okay. So reach out for help, but sometimes it's much better than just, like, heads down looking for the solution yourself. Yeah. Absolutely. And then the design is in the details. Definitely. Thank you for sharing this. And I would encourage everyone to take a look at the video GEO page. We linked it in the doc section, the one called video GEO. Feel. free to scroll through that and get some ideas. I think it's really helpful whether you're a marketer, that is planning to build out a page and wanna optimize it for views, or if you're just trying to get some type of, like, reach when it comes to customers, prospects, for any type of video content. You don't even have to be a marketer. I think pages are really useful, for internal and external resources. I definitely use them for, like, education. It's a great way if you don't have budget for other, learning and education tools like we did not at Goldcast to be able to create something from scratch that is still pretty usable. So really love that, and, thank you for sharing so much on video GEO. I think that we're with all of the move into AI that we're facing, it's so necessary for us to understand how we don't get buried, in the, like, the the mess of it all because it's just so much. So thank you for sharing that. Is. there any just ahead. Sorry. I just wanna say there's so much content out there, and then you probably also have so much content ready to share. So we just wanna do everything we can to help, people find more about your content. Yeah. Absolutely. And if anyone does have any other questions for Alana, you can pop them in the q and a. She can answer them written, or we can also do, some more q and a towards the end. But thank you for sharing. I'm going to reshare our deck, and we will hop into our product updates. And Alana's gonna stick around because she still has some, demos for us for some of our product updates. So I love having somebody on here with me. Okay. Please ignore my, animations. I meant to, like, make this less quick. Okay. Hopefully, you got you guys could see my screen. Hopping into what is new for today, a lot of the updates that we have are focused on helping events feel more interactive and also giving producers more control over events. So very first, we have slow roll here. Little general. First is our floating emojis. I saw someone actually used one, just a little bit ago with the thumbs up. If you look at the bottom of your, page, you should see a react option. Yes. Beautiful. So we now have emojis that show up on screen for everyone to see. You can also, like, click it rapidly, and it'll do, like, a bunch at a time or, like, a spur of applause. So just another way to bring some interaction to the screen for everyone, add a little fun layer of engagement, especially during launches, keynotes, big moments, big announcements. I'm really excited for this. Everybody should have this inside of their, admin panel and event stage now. And these can also be disabled if you would like. So when you go into your settings, you should see an option to disable it, but it is enabled for everyone automatically going forward. So feel free to try that in your next live event. We have also added the ability to the event app to ban attendees directly from inside the event. Previously, you had to go to your registrant section inside of the admin panel, find a user, scroll down to them, select them, and then ban them. But we now have that directly inside the event app so you can hover over a user's chat message, remove them. It'll give you a pop up to remove them, and then it will prevent them from rejoining. And this is a really huge, this is a really huge layout of moderation and safety improvement for our live events, because you don't have to focus on trying to go back to the admin panel to get somebody removed, and it will give them a pop up, to let them know that they've been removed from the event. It doesn't say exactly you've been removed, but something along those lines. So really great feature release there as well just to give you a little bit more control over the safety of your events and what's happening within those, and they will have a confirmation pop up on their end. In addition to these, we also have don't need drum rolls because this is such a slow curtain curtain split. I couldn't find it when I was doing my when I was doing the deck today. We have our pause and dead space deletion. So you now have the ability to see pauses directly inside of transcripts in ContentLab, and you can choose to optimize a single pause or all at once. You can remove dead space much faster and preview your changes and also restore pauses if needed. So it really just adds some polish to your videos. It makes it dramatically faster to remove those pauses. So any mess ups, any dead space that you have, you don't have to go through it individually in a transcript, find it, highlight it, remove it. We now have the ability for that to be done altogether. Right now, this is, rolling out in a beta. Currently, 50% of our customers should have access to it, and we have full GA planned for this, I believe, next week. We all know that that's not a harder task, but, hopefully, by next week, this should be fully rolled out to GA for all customers. And then the next one, before I kick it over to Alana to demo, is going to be our, gosh, gotta move stuff, our video splits and hooks. So we have a option to split videos and also in ContentLab to split your videos into segments and turn any of those segments into hooks that you can add throughout your video. So you can not only split your clips, split your video into clips, but you can rearrange how those clips are organized and then also pull some to the front to make them a a hook, like you see with, like, YouTube videos, any of those types of, like, podcast releases, stuff like that. So or, I guess, video podcast releases. But you can, again, split that, turn it into any section, and then it's huge for repurposing content into social clips and short form sets. This is currently rolling out in a beta as well. And I don't have a full timeline on the date, but I believe that we're rolling this out to all customers by the end of May, if I'm not mistaken as well. And, Marissa, I see your question. GA date for these is next week. I don't know if it's beginning or end of next week, but should be by end of May for these releases. And, Alana, I'm going to stop sharing our deck, and you can give us a quick demo of the pause and dead space deletion and the video splits and hooks. Sounds good. Let me share my screen and make sure I'm sharing my audio as well. Okay. Let me know if you can see my screen, but, this is the webinar we did with Devin Reed in 2025 from SEO to Geo, and I thought this is such a perfect example to show you how a hook can make a clip so much more engaging. This the the splits and hooks feature, this is a really highly requested feature from a lot of our customers. So I'm really excited that this is available in ContentLab now. In this clip, basically, Drew and Devin, they were talking about how different LOMs are citing different sources. So, like, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude, they're all citing different resources when you use the same prompt even. And Devon was sharing a really funny story. He was using the same prompt, asking ChatGPT and Claude what are some of the best b two b newsletters and podcasts, and Chat GPT was like, the reader is one of the best b two b newsletters out there. And Claude was like, I have no idea what the reader is. So, that was a really funny story that, Devin was sharing. Then I was like, you know, we were trying to promote the webinar. I was like, that's a that's such a great clip to share on social. But if I look. This is a two minute clip. Right? If I look for exactly where he started sharing the story, we'll give it a listen. Okay. So here. Let me know if you can't hear the audio because that's really where the phone is. I go over to Claude and ask the same prompt, and it lists out all these things. And I'm like, how come you didn't include the reader? And it straight up told me I am unfamiliar with the reader. So my website, my newsletters, nothing is on Claude right now. And so I did this early. Like, honestly, I literally was in my office like, oh my god. The second biggest, like, AI search engine, whatever you wanna call it, you know, LLM, doesn't know I exist. So that's something So right. So that clip right there is what I would like to use as a hook for this entire clip to kind of stop the scrolling on social media. And with this new feature, you can just go into your, transcript and highlight the part that you would like to use as a hook. Let me see. Let let's say I wanna highlight this part, and I'm just gonna do this. And then all of the icons just popped up on the right hand side. And this last one, add as hook, this is what you wanna use. You just click on it, and you can see this little part. It just got added to, the beginning of your video as a hook. And then you can also add your transition here, or you can add another video. I personally don't like to make my clip too long. Like, for social, I probably just keep it under one minute. But this is how you do it. It's just basically one clip. You highlight it and then click on the add as hook button, and then it's done. I have a finished product, a finished demo for you to to see because I also added I used our agentic, a I video editor to add some text call out because I really wanted to be able to see to understand what he was saying. So let's give that a look. This is my demo. Yes. So my website, my newsletters, nothing is on Claude right now. Yeah. I literally was in my office like, oh my god. The second biggest, like, AI search engine, well, I'm doesn't know I exist. So that the the short of it is So instead of watching that recording for, like, ninety seconds before you get to that moment, the hook will just really just surface it, puts it at the beginning of the video, and then it makes it so much more engaging. So that's one, one feature I'm personally really excited about. And now I think some of you may have already noticed in my transcript section, something looks different. So, like, here you have these little, numbers, indicators that are highlighted. These are highlighted in green, but you also have the gray ones. So when you see the gray ones, it basically means you have a a pause or a dead space in between. Like, we when we were talking, we're always using filler words even though my professor at school was like, Alana, you gotta stop using that. But, you know, word habit. Once you see it in your transcript, you can click on it, and AI will just help you optimize it. And you have options too. If I click on it, you'll see I can optimize just this one pause, or I can also optimize all. So it will just save you a lot of time and also make your content a lot tighter. Personally, I like to do it one by one when I have time because I I don't mind the conversational tone. I like to keep it a little more human. I think, you know, just just be real. Right? But it it it is nice to have the features available to you so you don't have to be there and then just, like, either trying to figure it out on the transcript or using the timeline to, like, cut it down, make it a little more tighter. So this is something available to you. If we, let me see. So this here, it's over one second. It's a pause. And if I click on it, I'm just gonna optimize it, and then we'll give it a listen. And you can see it just got reduced down to point four seconds. Even worse, you know, searching yourself on Reddit, you know, but it can be a humbling experience. So So that feels pretty tight to me. That sounds good. And that's the feature that's available, to 50% of our customers right now. But next week, it's gonna go into GA, so y'all all have access to it. Let us know how you how you like it. If or if you have feedback, if there's other improvements we can make, please let us know. Yes. Really cool features, really great time savers, especially that dead space. I am the queen of dead space, and I'm still I'm still unlearning the filler words. So I'm hoping that we have a filler word fixer soon too. I'm really excited. I'm right right there with you competing for the title. You would think it gets easier, and it it never does. Literally right there. So thank you for sharing that. Our last releases, the last two that we have for today, we have our Asian language transcription also in ContentLab. ContentLab can now transcribe videos in multiple multiple Asian languages in addition to the languages that we had previously. So all of your videos will be transcribed in Asian languages, and your clips. If you do AI clips, they will also generate in the same language as the original content. So if it is in one of those Asian languages or one of the other languages that we offer, it will not transcribe in that language without you having to go in and do any updates to the transcription yourself. So this is a just another really important step toward making our AI powered content workflows more global and accessible to our global community. And then very last thing is we have our speaker audio controls in ContentLab. So, again, previously, the video that you have is a video you have. You can't really make any adjustments. We now have the ability where you can adjust individual speaker audio levels directly inside the editor so you can balance out participant volume. Maybe someone's microphone was louder than another's. Someone forgot to mute, you know, their microphone during a time of loud background noise, and it's it's really impacting the video, you can now both adjust the speaker audio levels, and then you can also balance the volume, mute individual tracks, and just generally create a cleaner listening experience without having to leave ContentLab or do any rerecording of your content. So this is going to begin rolling out, this month if we have not already. I don't think we have. And then we're planning additional controls to be added to this feature in q three. So there will be some additional adjustments to make this even more improved in, q three time frame. So those are the last two updates that we have. Oh, it is GA today, actually. Can these controls roll out to live webinars too? That's a great question. I don't know if our team has plans to roll it out to live webinars just because I think it would be a lot of moderation during the event trying to navigate. But we can definitely pass it along as a feature request and see if they have any plans to roll that out to the actual events, Danielle. That's a good that's a good call out. I'm gonna actually note that down, and we can ask. Okay. That is all of the product updates that we have today. I know some of our regular attendees are used to our giveaway time. We are actually not going to be doing it today. I'm so, so sorry. I hope that you didn't come in the hopes for a gift card giveaway. But, we will hopefully be receiving this very, very soon, but we are gonna skip out on it today. And I am not seeing any questions left over in the q and a, but thank you everyone so much for joining. I hope that the product updates that we shared were helpful. I hope that Alana's segment on Video GEO has given you some really cool ideas on how to optimize your content and your audience reach and engagement. And I hope that you will come back and join us next month for our next segment. We will have something awesome for you as always. And as always, thank you so much for coming to GoldMine. It really means so much to us. Alana, anything to close us out with? Have a great long weekend. Do you all have any exciting fun plans? Yes. Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend. If you have fun plans, feel free to pop them in the comments, and we are gonna pop backstage. But if you have any lingering questions, we'll still be around a couple of minutes, so feel free to pop it in the q and a. But, otherwise, have a great short rest of your week and a great long weekend. Thanks, everyone. Thank. you all.
